The Hip Bone Is Connected To The . . .

The hock is just one part of the Aussie rear, but it is often referred to. The shorter the hock, the shorter the legs of the Aussie. The hock attatchment should be straight to moderately bent in order to provide for neccessary agility. Too much angulation makes for a weak rear assembly. Too straight and the dog will not be able to move in an efficient manner when covering long stretches of ground.
