Other Animals and Aussies

Aussies, if properly socialized can get along with any kind of animal. My own experience is that they tend to make ‘pets’ out of companion animals. My own dog has had a pet hedgehog and a pet rat. They will care for it, watch out for it, etc, if there is a bond. However, with anything, an Aussie must be properly introduced to many different animal species in a favorable environment when quite young, otherwise, you will have problems with species compatibility later in life.
